Since launch in 2016, we've been committed to POOLSIDE lifestyle -- soaking up the sunshine, ordering cocktails by the pool, long days spent swimming with friends, and warm weather everything. With fans and customers including Gigi Hadid, Gwyneth Paltrow, Priyanka Chopra, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Roberts, and more, we feel lucky to have become every it girl's favorite straw tote bag and go-to summer accessory.
This season, we are excited to announce the launch of our first ever fall / winter tote bag style -- The Teddy Tote. Made of cuddly soft sherpa fleece, this tote bag is an absolute essential for fall and winter months. As our debut style for colder temps, we meticulously created this sherpa tote to be the only bag you need this season. Soft and fuzzy straps fit cozily and conveniently over your shoulder for easy toting. While extremely light weight, this bag holds its structure nicely, even when filled to the brim.
The bag’s interior features three pockets for organizing your essentials (one large and two small). In addition, each teddy fleece tote comes with a complimentary sherpa fleece flat zip pouch for additional storage. Large enough to use as a weekender bag, or for those sporadic trips to your IRL office space, this bag’s functionality is truly unparalleled for every use case!
While The Teddy Tote is made of a poly blend our commitment to sustainable fashion challenged us to create this bag in the most responsible way possible. The teddy bear fleece fabric is made of upcycled excess material that, sourced responsibly from a luxury fabric store in Delhi. Instead of commissioning and purchasing bulk fabric from a mill, we purchased leftover/excess fabric that was readily available on the market. Each bag was made by hand and sewing machine at our atelier, and not at a huge factory. Therefore, each bag was made with the utmost love and care.
Why a Teddy Bear Tote now? I've asked myself the same question. This year has been difficult for everyone. Like most other businesses, we were put at risk by the Covid-19 crisis. Many people advised us to focus on straw bags, but we've always tried to use challenging situations creatively. This year has been a catalyst for us to listen more closely to our customers, to think more creatively, and to be more strategic.
Not only are we developing new products, such as the Teddy Bear Tote, but we will also be launching new categories (more to come on that soon). POOLSIDE is a travel brand, and we're committed to being there for our community -- poolside, slope side, or elsewhere. Our customers and friends are vacationing locally, and are living that "all-cozy-all-the-time" lifestyle. Truthfully, there's never been a better time to launch The Teddy Tote. We hope you love it.
